SUMMARY:The Vancouver Declaration: A new coalition of the willing takes on global warming
DESCRIPTION:Between October 2024 and May 2025\, 250 high-level experts in climate policy and climate research\, plus industry leaders\, environmental leaders\, and government policy officials (representing over 200 institutions from 36 countries) worked together online to develop a new global policy for carbon dioxide removal—a framework for immediate global collaboration on CDR. \nThe result is the Vancouver Declaration\, the world’s first global soft-law agreement on CDR. The Declaration unites all stakeholder groups in common cause—not just industry working alone\, but governments at all levels and from all regions\, plus funders\, researchers\, and civil society.
